What is the Young Adult Social?

Our Young Adult Social night opens our safe space up to LGBTQ2+ adults between the ages of 18 and 30 to come hang out and express themselves openly with people they can relate to. We normally socialize, play games, and meet up for outside events.

Testimonials

I have found a sense of community at the center, and being around other queer people my age has helped me come to terms with my own queerness. The center has given me a safe haven and a place to laugh and smile. I always look forward to hanging out every week!
-Lilac Poundmaker

I began as a volunteer for the youth group. I was able to directly see the positive impact that the community, support, and resources we gave had for them. I participated in the young adult and trans support groups which monumentally changed my life. I started as just a bisexual person and was able to find others like me and role model what queer/trans life could look like. I think I would be dead if not severely isolated without the LGBTQ2+ Centre's programs.

We humbly and gratefully acknowledge that we are gathered on the unceded territory of the Kanien’kehà:Ka (Mohawk) people. This land has historically served as a meeting place for many Indigenous nations, including the Haudenosaunee and the Anishinaabe, and is currently home to Indigenous communities from across Turtle Island and the world.
