The West Island LGBTQ2+ Centre offeres services for both adults and seniors as a core tenant of the work that we do. Our programming for both adults and seniors were founded in 2013, a concept brought forth by members of our Board of Directors and the Executive Director. This program was seen as a natural extension of the work that we were doing with LGBTQ2+ youth, and parents of LGBTQ2+ individuals.
One of the primary goals of this program is to help break down the isolation felt by many LGBTQ2+ people, and building a strong community to improving individual resilience. Reducing isolation can take on many forms, and our programs reflect just two of those forms; reducing isolation through socializing; and reducing isolation through sensitization.

We humbly and gratefully acknowledge that we are gathered on the unceded territory of the Kanien’kehà:Ka (Mohawk) people. This land has historically served as a meeting place for many Indigenous nations, including the Haudenosaunee and the Anishinaabe, and is currently home to Indigenous communities from across Turtle Island and the world.
